Following this guide:

> **[Developing External Native Apps](https://www.webosose.org/docs/tutorials/native-apps/developing-external-native-apps/)**
>
> External native apps are 3rd party native apps that must be installed on the webOS target device.
> This page describes the steps to develop an external native app using Sample Code Repository and CLI. For detailed information on the CLI commands used...

You are directed to use functions like: wl\_webos\_shell\_get\_shell\_surface

> <https://github.com/webosose/samples/blob/master/native-apps/external/com.sample.waylandegl/src/wayland_egl.c#L23>

wayland-webos-shell-client-protocol.h

Where can I find the sources for these files so I can compile my application against?

I want to start by trying to compile wayland\_egl.

Are these files included in the [Native Development Kit Setup | webOS Open Source Edition](https://www.webosose.org/docs/guides/setup/setting-up-native-development-kit/#run-the-environment-setup-script)? Seems an awful lot to download just for some headers and code!

Please confirm, if not where am I supposed to get them from?

YES!

you can get that file by install SDK. after building a webOS image.

and me also followed that guide,

```auto
$ cd ..
$ ares-package pkg_aarch64
```

however, there was pkd\_arm64 instead of pkg\_aarch64.

so i had install sdk again!

@LuckyKnight, @ChangyongAhn,

It's a little late, but we've updated the[NDK setup guide](https://www.webosose.org/docs/guides/setup/setting-up-native-development-kit/) for webOS OSE 2.20.1.

> **[Native Development Kit Setup](https://www.webosose.org/docs/guides/setup/setting-up-native-development-kit/)**
>
> To build external native apps or services for webOS Open Source Edition (OSE), you need to install Native Development Kit (NDK) on your computer.
> The NDK is a set of tools that include toolchains, libraries, and header files. This guide describes how...
