So, can apps developed on this platform be uploaded to LG televisions? Examples?

Since TV-related services have been removed from the webOS OSE, apps using those services will not work properly on the TV. In other words, the webOS OSE is partly different from the webOS TV from software stack perspective. thus, 100% compatibility between the two platforms is not guaranteed.

However, Apps developed using HTML 5 standard can be developed on this platform and will run on webOS TV as well.
