How do I limit the TV functionality to act as just a monitor?

I have a 55" LG webOS TV, but its purpose in life is to just be a monitor. I don't want to have to use the remote, to skip past tv stuff, I couldn't care less about any of it. I just want to turn it on and have it default to HDMI1. What are the steps to garner this functionality?
