Hi all,
I recently got to know that webOS has started supporting Flutter for some apps, which is really interesting. It made me wonder what other GUI frameworks might be supported in the future.
Lately, the open-source community has been talking a lot about Slint (a lightweight Rust/C++ UI framework), and I was curious if webOS has any plans or ongoing discussions about supporting it.
Slint is super lightweight and fast, so I feel like it could be a great fit for things like system UIs, boot/recovery screens, factory mode tools, or simple device-control panels—basically areas where a full Web or Flutter runtime might be a bit heavy.
Plus, since it works really well with Rust, it could be interesting for future webOS-based IoT/robotics/industrial devices that need secure native UIs for further opportunities.
Does anyone know if Slint support has ever been considered or talked about?
or anyone who is interested in Slint for webOS either?
Merry Christmas, in advance!
